Map & Directions to Carolina Keep
From I-40 and I-26 take # 240 to Asheville: Watch for US 19 and 23 North. Get in the left hand lane on the bridge and left onto US 19 and 23 North to first exit North of Mars Hill. Take US 19E to Burnsville. Turn left, North, on NC #197. Drive 9 miles. Turn right on Brush Creek Road, drive one mile. Turn left on Ridge Road, drive one mile. Turn left into Carolina Keep. Follow the signs to the office.
From Johnson City, TN
From I-81: take # 181 South through Johnson City. Continue South on US 19 and 23. Exit at Unicoi, TN. Turn right when you reach Unicoi. Turn left (South) on TN #107. When you crest the mountain into North Carolina, TN #107 becomes NC #226. Take NC #226 to Red Hill. Turn right on NC #197 South. (Caution! Do not take NC #197 North, it will take you back to Tennessee.) Take NC #197 South across the railroad track and the river and drive one mile. Turn left on Brush Creek Road. Drive one mile. Turn left on Ridge Road, drive one mile. Turn left into Carolina Keep. Follow the signs to the office.
